When I work with clay I feel that I become part of the earth and, through the process, bring clay to life. I characterize my work as folksy and funky; it conveys an expressiveness and freeness of energy that provides me with great satisfaction.
Being a painter from an early age has led me to painting my pottery with flowers from American and European folk-art patterns. I like colorful decoration; bold, fresh, and lively. These expressions provide me with a sense of happiness that I hope to convey to others.
