JACKIE RADFORD

Elevating the Ubiquitous

Paper is everywhere. Paper goes from mailbox to trashcan with barely a glance. The Digital Age has even rendered paper irritating. So, why undergo the laborious process of making paper by hand? Because I live in that magical space of finding exquisite joy in the often overlooked minutiae of the everyday. I’ve made thousands of sheets of paper and each one was subtly different than it’s predecessors. Each sheet of paper feels minutely different to my fingertips. The paper pulp lies differently from every pull from the vat. Every time the paper pulp fiber locks together into a sheet of paper is magical to me. I offer my handmade paper to you as we connect over our mutual appreciation of ubiquitous, magical paper.
