Thrown and hand-built functional ceramics made from a mid-range, dark stoneware clay body. Work is surface-decorated in colored porcelain slips and underglazes, incised using sgraffito, and fired to maturity in an electric kiln.

The intense line contrast between the dark clay body and the porcelain slip that covers it lends an illustration-like quality to the work, which references landscape-based children’s books and invites the user to incorporate their narrative memories of landscape and place (whether directly experienced or not) into the utilitarian objects that surround them daily.
