We launched YoungFineWoodcraft as a father/daughter team to build unique and stylish wooden creations.  After prototyping a few designs, we realized just how fun it was to work through the creative process together.  Our shared aesthetic gravitates towards clean, modern, geometric designs that highlight the natural variation and beauty of wood.  

We do not use any stains in our process.  The color variation in our work results from thoughtful selection from a broad variety of domestic and exotic wood species.  In addition to wood species, careful attention is given to the grain direction and pattern.  Altering face grain, edge grain, and end grain are used to achieve contrasting tone, luster, and texture.  We hand make each YoungFineWoodcraft item in their Lawrence, Kansas, home studio.
