Founded in 2017 VISUAL INDEX is a woman-owned art gallery located in the downtown arts district of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Curator, Toni Tronu, carries contemporary craft and fine art in a range of mediums. VISUAL INDEX is the only art gallery in the country to focus on representing makers from all 50 states.
At VISUAL INDEX we believe in supporting living makers! We don't follow trends, we don't encourage matching sets, and we relish mixing colors and textures. We believe in representing artists whose work is attainable, and we try our darndest to be approachable. We hope you'll keep us in mind when searching for gifts, as well as treating yourself to something handmade.

My love for makers and their wares is what inspired VISUAL INDEX, and it's a pleasure to share these talented makers with all of you.
My formal education is in Photography. Though my professional career has evolved into art curation, I use my photographic skills every day. My skill as a photographer is reflected in my purposeful groupings throughout the gallery; each grouping is a frame, and each frame is a photo.
I am the proud recipient of the 2021 NCAEA Friend of the Arts Award and the WSFC Arts Council's 2021 R. Philip Hanes, Jr. Young Leader Award.
When I'm not at the gallery you can find me enjoying my beautiful family- Robert, Iris, and Merlin (basset hound). I also enjoy gardening, reading, and making music with my husband in our project, Lady Gold Van.
