ANGELA EASTMAN

HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest originally, I have always drawn inspiration from time spent in the outdoors, whether it be camping in the wilderness, working on farms, or examining the structure of pinecones in my backyard. I am also fascinated by the myriad ways that humans have used natural materials to create beautiful vessels, and I’ve sought out ways to learn traditional crafts such as basketweaving, net-making, ceramics, and blacksmithing. Many of my jewelry pieces draw on the language of weaving combined with the structure of metalworking, while my basketry is inspired by time spent exploring in the woods.
